Cromwell I

Cromwell is a town in Central Otago. The town was originally a gold mining town. It was built at the point where the Clutha River and Kawarau River meet. When the Clyde Dam was built forming Lake Dunstan the rivers were flooded and part of old Cromwell was sunk. Orchards and vineyards have replaced gold as the main industry of the area.
